Word from the Mission Field

“A Quick Work”

Time means nothing to God. He is able to do “quick work” when needed.

In 2 Chronicles. 29:36, King Hezekiah decides to call all of Judah to repent, cleanse the temple, offer sacrifices, and dedicate the land back to the Lord. It was a huge job, but the Bible says, “And Hezekiah rejoiced, and all the people, that God had prepared the people: for the thing was done quickly.”

When God gets ready to move, you need to be ready too. There are times when God moves so fast; it is scary. I had prayed for years that God would send Bobby and me to Haiti as full-time missionaries, but Bobby wasn’t budging. We went on a short missionary trip to Greve, Haiti, with a team, 14 hours in a flatbed truck in the heat of the sun.

Bobby was not in a good mood on the trip because he was resisting the calling of God for us to move to Haiti. We took a break and got out of the truck, hungry, thirsty, and tired. Bobby sat under a coconut tree and took a nap when the Lord let a “big coconut” fall and hit him on the head!

The Lord said, “Bobby, you will move to Haiti in 30 days!” The thing was done quickly! In 30 days, we moved to Haiti! So, when you pray, be ready for God to do a quick thing!
