“Step by Step…”

In our life, we all are praying for the Lord to lead us to His perfect will…finding the “perfect will of God,” where there is peace and happiness, takes a little time, and sometimes, it takes years. You don’t just wake up one day, and you are happy, with everything going right, and ending up in God’s perfect will. It is a “step by step” journey, and sometimes, it seems like “one step forward and two steps back,” but it is all in God’s perfect plan.

Both our son and our daughter have experienced this. They started on one path, had some ups and downs, and now are so happy with life changes. In the Bible, Joseph is a great example of this. He was the youngest and most loved by his father, Jacob.  Yet, he had a vision of things that would happen in the future…things he did not quite understand. And, although he loved the Lord with all his heart, he was sold by his brothers, “dropped into a deep, dark pit, and then sold into slavery to Egypt, another people, another language…far away from his father, whom he loved dearly. Yet, he remembered a “dream” God had given him before he left Egypt. Where was that dream now that he was in prison in Egypt?

Years later, he found himself in the palace, second in command to Pharaoh, and in charge of all the food in Egypt. You know the story about how God used Joseph to spare the entire seed of Israel. And Joseph said to his brothers… “And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.” – Genesis 45:7

Good things will happen in your life, but it happens, “step by step.” Don’t try to hurry, God. His ways are above our ways, and His thoughts above our thoughts. But, it WILL come to pass!
