Have you ever prayed for someone that you thought was “impossible for God to save?” Maybe you prayed because you “had to,” but in your heart you thought, “that will never happen!” Sometimes, the one you think will never turn to God is just the one God is running after!

Years ago, when we were working in the village of “Old Letant,” there was a witch doctor named “Joel!” He drank, was a thief, was mean, and he hated Christians, especially missionaries! One day, I asked him if we could use his “tonnel” for our Mobile Medical Clinic. He agreed! He lent us his table, but he had a Voodoo cross under it, so he covered it with a dirty sheet! To make a long story short, he stole everything and anything we left for the village. One day, when he was away doing his “Voodoo” stuff, someone set fire to his village! When we came back to the burned down village, we brought all of the families clothes, food, water buckets, and money to rebuild. He followed me out of the meeting and said, “Madamn Sherry, I want to become a citizen of the same country that you belong to!” He knelt down on his knees and as we prayed, he cried like a baby! He had been “born again!”

The Bible declares, “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear.” (Isaiah 59:1) So, don’t give up on the one you are praying for! The Lord knows how to “get their attention,” and how to change their heart!
