Word from the Mission Field

“I know my redeemer liveth…”

This was not spoken by someone who had just been healed, received a miracle, or an answer to prayer. It was spoken by Job, whom I have talked about so many times. No one in the world or in the Bible was as tested as Job. He not only lost everything, but the suffering he endured in his body as flesh rotted away was incomprehensible to me.

“My bone cleaveth to my skin and to my flesh…” Job 19:20

But he said, “For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold…” (Job 19:25-27) We have nothing to compare our sorrows to, and yet, we cannot compare anything with seeing our “redeemer” face-to-face.

Keep looking up!
