“Expecting to receive something of them.” Acts 3:5
“Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked for alms. And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.” Acts 3:1-5
Every day, this man who had never walked before in his life was begging daily. But Peter and John got the beggar’s attention and said, “Look on us.” Now the man knows he is not getting some money, but he expects something. It was faith in action. The beggar got more than money! He took off like a wild man, walking, leaping, yelling, and screaming because he was now walking on his faith feet! Then, he walked and leaped into the temple, praising God! When you look at Jesus and ask Him to meet your needs, “be expecting” to receive! You won’t leave like you came, in Jesus Name! Sherry
