Word from the Mission Field

“When Blessings Come, Jealousy Follows.”

Have you ever considered what happens when God blesses us? It is a fact that “the greater the blessing, the greater the jealousy!” You may think that people will rejoice with you, but not always. They see that God has given you something and now, they will talk about you, and try to destroy you. They may even be “nice to your face,” but immediately, the jealousy will overcome them. They may even talk about you behind your back or lie on you.

David was a simple shepherd boy, attending to his father’s sheep. He had no dreams of “being someone great or living in the palace.” All he did was tend to sheep and worship the Lord. God chooses to bless David and made this young man so fearless, that he fought the giant, Goliath, with a mere slingshot. King Saul took him into his “palace,” and kept David close. The Bible says that David “went whithersoever Saul sent him and he behaved himself wisely.” I Samuel 18:5

The day of that battle, when the women came out, danced, and said, “Saul hath killed his thousands and David his ten thousands,” that was it! A “spirit of jealousy entered into King Saul, and Saul eyed David, (or became jealous of David) from that day forward.”

The more you do for God, the greater you will be criticized and lied on… all because of jealousy. Just expect it but don’t fret about it, for “greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world!!” We pray that God richly blesses you from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet… and, we promise not to be jealous of you! Ha! We love you!
