How can we turn our back on a real need, when God puts it right in front of us? The Bible says, “But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?” I John 3:17

There is a great story in the Bible in the book of Job… remember that he had lost everything he had, because of a great trial. But Job had always blessed the poor. Job said, “If I have withheld the poor from their desire or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail or have eaten my morsel myself alone and the fatherless hath not eaten thereof… then let my arm fall from my shoulder blade and mine arm be broken from the bone.” Job 31

In Job’s later end, God blessed him double. God blesses those who do not forget the poor.
