Word from the Mission Field

Who’s Holding Up Your Hands?

I love the Old Testament stories of faith and miracles! One of my favorites is Exodus 17. Israel was fighting against the army of Amalek. Suddenly, the armies of Amalek were prevailing. So, Moses held up his hand with the rod in it! But when he got tired, the enemy prevailed. So, Moses sat on a large stone, and Aaron and Hur “held up his hands,” until the sun went down and all of the enemies were defeated.

Sometimes, in our lives, we try to take credit for “getting our prayers answered,” or that “God heard our prayer and gave us the victory!” But, did you ever stop to think that “someone loves you so much, they are holding up your hands” and “going into the battle” for you!

We can tell of the times in Haiti when our lives were threatened or when our truck was sliding off the edge of the cliff… but at that exact time, we found out that there were those in the background, asking God to protect us and send His angels to us! We didn’t know it, but someone was “holding up our hands!”

So, do not be discouraged today. Someone is always “holding up your hands,” and you will prevail! Be blessed!
