“Like A Flood”

“… When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.” Isaiah 59:19

Bobby and I have lived through several major hurricanes, a tornado, and the 2010 earthquake that hit Haiti. We’ve faced floods in Haiti. It is terrifying, especially for the poor who live in mud huts! But to be in a “major flood” must be so terrifying, “carrying away everything in its path.” This is just what the devil does.

I have read this scripture many times and just now realized that the Lord said, “The Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard (or a wall) against HIM!” The flood that this verse is talking about is not an “it.” The flood is “him” or Satan!

I know you are reading this, and you are thinking, “I’m in the flood and I feel like I’m drowning.” No, you’re not! God is going to show you “just how strong He is!” He will do whatever it takes to “save you” from the “flood!” Hang in there, please!! Help is coming soon!! Sherry
