“Does God hear our prayers?”

Every one of us can probably say that we wondered about this sometime in our life…

I met Bobby when I was 16 and he was 17. He told me about a long fast that he had to do to obey the Lord. The fast would be 21 days on water only, and we were just teenagers, poor teenagers! Bobby really struggled for years to go on that long fast because he believed that if he obeyed God, that the Lord would bless us and open doors, and help us financially too… because we were “flat broke.”

The day came and Bobby went off to a little shack to fast and pray. After 21 “long days,” I asked him if he had “heard from God,” or “seen a vision,” or “something, anything?” His answer was “no, baby. I didn’t hear a thing from God and I felt so far away from Him and it was just as if He didn’t hear my prayers.”

But, God did hear Bobby’s prayers. The Lord spoke to him and said, “the just shall walk by faith and not by sight.” That was the beginning of God’s blessings on our life. No, it did not happen overnight, but through many obstacles, we landed in Haiti, where God wanted us to be. Does God hear our prayers? He hears whispers, as He did Hannah’s prayer, when she prayed for a child. God heard Jonah’s prayer, “Then Jonah prayed unto the Lord his God out of the fish’s belly and said, I cried by reason of my afflictions unto the Lord, and He heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou hardest my voice.” Jonah 2:1-2

And God hears your prayers, too! And, He is ready to answer!! Thank Him, right now!
