Someone once said, “There’s nothing worse than a stingy Christian.” I agree. God has blessed us so much that we should always go and give the second mile as Christians. I have seen so many Christians who give “just enough to get by,” but if the Lord did that, we would all be in trouble!

The Lord taught the people of Israel, “…thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother: But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him…” Deuteronomy 15:7-8

God is saying, “Don’t just give him enough to get by, but open your hand wide unto him.” It is so embarrassing to see a church group of Christians eat dinner on a Sunday and barely leave a good tip for the waitress…(of course, they leave a gospel tract, but the gospel tract won’t feed their family). If you’re going to leave a gospel tract, leave a “nice big tip!!”

Open your hand wide, and if the Lord speaks to your heart to give “more,” just do it! And when you do, God will open His hand wide, unto you!”
