Word from the Mission Field

“Your Enemy is Always Listening… so “Zip it!”

Years ago, an old man of God gave Bobby and me some good advice, “Don’t brag. Always stay little before the Lord.”

When Joseph had his dreams about what God was going to do in his life, he told his brothers, and they got jealous, and almost killed him! Sometimes, it is not meant for us to “tell everything.” You may have someone who is a friend, but as soon as God begins to bless you, he gets jealous and can become your greatest enemy… in your church, at your job, in your family, through an inheritance, anything! Jealously is an evil spirit!

In Isaiah 39:1-7, King Hezekiah gets healed of a disease. The King of Babylon heard that Hezekiah was sick and “sent letters and a present” to King Hezekiah, through his son. King Hezekiah should have thanked him and “left well enough” alone. But, Hezekiah became a little “lifted up.” He felt that now, he was “somebody special” because the King of Babylon had sent him letters and a present.

So, Hezekiah invited the son of the King of Babylon into his secret chambers and showed him all the treasures in the “house of the Lord.” He bragged about the silver and gold, the treasure, the ointments, the spices, and the armour. “There was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed him not.” Isaiah 39:2

Then, the Word of the Lord came from the prophet Isaiah, and he told Hezekiah, that “The days will come, when everything that has been laid up, shall be taken away into Babylon” and that their sons would become eunuchs in the palace of the King of Babylon and that “nothing shall be left.” Hezekiah should have “said nothing.”

When God reveals to you how He will bless you, be careful who you tell this to. Your enemy is always listening… so, “Zip It!”

Have a great day!! Sherry
