“Too Busy to be Still?”
I guess we all have, at one time or another, used the words, “I’m busy for God… I’m doing this or I’m doing that. I’m so busy I can’t catch my breath.” We have all learned how to “work hard and stay busy for the Lord,” but, have we learned how to “be still and listen for His voice?” Haven’t we all said to our children, “Be quiet and listen to me!!”
Years ago, when our daughter, Julie was just a baby, we attended Kathryn Kuhlman’s service. She was speaking about “being still” and listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit. With that packed out audience of thousands, there was not a sound. All of a sudden, my baby girl tumbled out of my arms and hit her head, and started crying. Immediately, the ushers came and asked me to take her out (which I would have done anyway). On that day, I learned what it meant to “be still and know that I am God.” Psalms 46:10
There is no one who loves to see people rejoicing and praising the Lord, more than I do… but, there comes a time when we need to stop, get alone with Him, and “be still… Let’s never be too busy to be to still… and listen.” God bless you and have a great day!
