Your calling from God may require you to walk away from something important to you.

Comfort is habit-forming.

James and John walked away from their fishing business. They were mending their nets when they had to obey the call of God. They left their nets, fishing boat, and their father to follow Jesus. (Matthew 4:21-22)

The calling of God may require you to leave the comfort of your home, family, and relatives. “Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee.” (Genesis 12:1)

Ruth left her country. “And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God.” (Ruth 1:16-17)

“There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s, but he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.” (Mark 10:29-30)

Are you willing to pay the price and obey the calling of God in your life? You may even be called to be a missionary.
