THE CALLING: This is a very important scripture for you this morning, especially if you are in the ministry.

“Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall.”  2 Peter 1:10

A lot of people come to Haiti to be a missionary, but just after a short while they return home. You have to be able to sacrifice all, leaving friends and family. There are many lonely nights with no place to go. There are no malls, no movies, and there’s no getting together with friends. You’re working with a different culture of people, facing things you cannot even imagine. Everyone is trying to put Voodoo on you. The reward is greater than the sacrifice! The Haitian people are very precious.

I’m not criticizing anyone who came here to be a missionary, and they had to leave because it’s tough here. The bottom line is, do you have the true calling of God, whether to travel to Haiti, Africa, or the outermost part of the Earth? Bobby Burnette
