“Don’t Even Take a Peek!”

There’s something that the Lord just hates about “broken focus.” Anytime we take our eyes “off of Him” we lose track of what we are supposed to do…

Lot’s wife is a good example… When the Lord sent word through His angels to Lot that He was going to destroy the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, the Angel of the Lord literally had to take Lot and his family “by the hand” and drag them out…

“And while he (Lot) lingered, the men, (Angels of the Lord), laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the Lord being merciful unto him, and they brought him forth and set with them without the city…” Gen.19:16. And, after all of this, the Angel of the Lord said, “Escape for thy life; look not behind thee…”

The Lord rained fire and brimstone upon these two cities, and “even upon that which grew upon the ground”…”But, his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.” Gen.19:26

Once we have our “hands on the plow,” we cannot even take a “peek” of what we left behind, because what we left behind is nothing! So, don’t grieve over that man, that boyfriend, that girlfriend, that job, that marriage… those might be things that keep you from getting what God wants for you… “Don’t even take a peek!”
