“Nothing to Lose.” Mark 5:29

Jesus had just finished ministering to a huge crowd when he decided to get on a boat and go over to the other side of the sea. All of a sudden, a ruler of the synagogue, Jarius, comes and falls at the feet of Jesus, begging Him to come and heal his daughter… she was “at the point of death.”

As Jesus was on his way, more crowds followed. I don’t know if you have ever been in a crowd, and got caught up in the crowd… it is claustrophobic. However, a very sick woman, which had an “issue of blood,” for twelve long years, was in the crowd. She had spent “all her money on all the physicians,” but only grew worse. This was a woman who, apparently had never been married, due to the issue of blood, because no one could even touch her, during this time. She could not enter into the temple, because she was unclean. She was “poor, sick, lonely, broke, and desperate.”  

She knew she was not allowed to touch a Rabbi, or a minister, or anyone, because “they would be unclean.” But, she must have thought, “What have I got to lose? This is my chance. If I can just touch Him, I know I will be made whole!”

Imagine her, in her weak condition, with everyone shoving her, probably cussing at her, telling her to “get out of the way.” But somehow, she touched Jesus, and was instantly made whole!

You may have been praying, struggling, trying your best to believe for a miracle, but keep on and don’t let go. “You have nothing to lose!” Hang in there! Help is on the way!
