Have you ever been in a storm? It can be frightening, especially if you are driving in your car, or on a small plane or in a boat. Sometimes, we go through “storms” in our lives that are even more terrifying than driving or flying through it. Life situations like the doctor gave you bad news, your favorite pet died, you’re going through a divorce, you lost your job or your child got in trouble are “storms.” But in Matthew 14, the disciples of Jesus were in a frightening storm and they were afraid, just like you might be, but all of a sudden Jesus came “walking on the water to meet them” in the storm! And what does He say, “Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.” Matthew 14:27 – Today, these are the words of Jesus for you.
