Mark 10:21 and 22 are to me, some of the saddest scriptures in the Bible. Jesus told the story of the rich young man who came to Jesus and wanted to know how to have eternal life. He had kept all the commandments since he was a child. “Then Jesus beholding him loved him…” He saw something in that young man…so he told him four things to do: “Sell what you have; Give to the poor; Take up your cross and Follow Me.” And he went away sad, because “he had great possessions.” How very, very sad. Maybe he could have been a “great disciple.”
