The God of “More than Enough!”
Two of my favorite books in the Bible are 1st and 2nd Kings. Wow, so many miracles!!! In chapter 17 of 1st Kings, there is a famine. The Lord spoke to Elijah and told him, Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.” 1 Kings 17:9 – This widow woman had nothing, but a handful of bread and a little oil in her cruse that she was going to use to “bake her last cake” for her and her son, and they would both die. Not only did the Lord sustain Elijah, but the blessing was for the widow woman who baked her last cake and gave it to Elijah. God blessed her so much during the famine that her “meal barrel never ran out of meal and her cruse of oil would never run out either!” When you are “down to your last handful,” you still serve a God of “more than enough…” if you learn to give. Have a great day! Sherry
