As Simon was “thinking within himself” about how “bad” this prostitute was and how Jesus never knew what kind of woman she was…
Jesus answered his “thoughts.” After Jesus told him a story about “forgiveness of debt,” Jesus said, “I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head. Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet. My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.” Luke 7:44-46 — Then He told her, “Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.” Luke 7:50
Her one act of love and sincere repentance changed her life. She came in with her “life in broken pieces,” and left a changed woman because she did not care about “what people thought.” She washed, kissed and anointed the feet of the “King of Kings.” Today, when the Lord speaks to you to do an act of kindness or to do something for the Lord, never be ashamed or afraid…just do it!
