There is a Creole Proverb in Haiti that says, “A hungry stomach cannot hear.” How true. Sometimes, we think “just preaching the Gospel is the answer,” but it takes more than preaching. It takes action. A missionary friend of ours was in Russia, in a poor village passing out Bibles in the Russian language. Suddenly, an elderly woman began shaking the Bible and saying something. When the translator told the missionary, it was this, “I can’t eat this Bible!” My friend, your actions are speaking louder than your words. Remember what I always say, “Someone is watching you.
