“Be Still and Know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

We all love to “make a joyful noise” and praise the Lord. There’s nothing wrong with that, but there is a time and season for everything. Sometimes, we talk so much, that we cannot take time to “be still and know that God is God.” Years ago, Bobby and I were at Kathryn Kuhlman’s service. For some of you who don’t know who this great woman of God is, she was a minister and she had the gift of miracles. My father, who was an unbeliever and an alcoholic, took his cousin to Miss Kuhlman’s service because she was dying of female cancer. She was healed in that service and lived many years, cancer free. In her service, when she felt the Holy Spirit moving, she would make everyone be “still” so that the Spirit of God could move among the people. Our daughter, Julie, who was just about six months old, was sitting on my lap and toppled over and bumped her head. She started crying. Immediately, the ushers came and asked me to take her out until she stopped crying, and I did. And of course, the Lord moved among the people. Sometimes, we are so busy talking, or thinking, that we don’t take a moment to “be still and listen.” Many times, the Lord speaks in the “still, small voice.” Have a great day, and take a moment to “be still and listen.” Sherry
