1 Samuel 30:1-6 – King David returns from battle to find out that his city, Ziklag, had been burned with fire by the Amalekites and they had taken all the women and children captive. David’s men were so upset that they spoke of “stoning David.” I like verse six…“But David encouraged himself in the Lord…” And when he prayed, the Lord said, “Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.” (Verse 8) Even when things look so bad that it breaks our hearts, the Lord can still “turn things around” in any impossible situation.
