“Because the Syrians have said, The Lord is God of the hills, but he is not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall know that I am the Lord.” 1 Kings 20:28 — In this chapter, the Syrian army, a great army, is coming against Israel. But the Syrians made a mistake when they said that their God is a God of the hills (mountains), but He is not a God of the valleys…so therefore, let’s fight them in the valleys, and we will win! Big mistake! This really made God mad. He said, “Because you have said I am just a God of the mountains, and not of the valleys, I’ll show you!” Israel slew 100,000 footmen in one day. Then, the Syrians fled to Aphek where a wall fell on the Syrians and killed another 27,000!
