Word from the Mission Field – 11-17-16

In Luke 21:1-3, Jesus tells the story of the widow woman “casting two mites” in the treasury while the rich were casting in great riches, and wanting to be seen by all men. When Bobby and I visited Jerusalem, the guide told us that the “widow” was really supposed to go around to the back of the treasury table where the priests were so they could give the widows something, but she “didn’t want to be in the receiving line.” She wanted to be in the “giving line.” Jesus said that she gave more than they all. Why? Because it’s not what you give that determines the sacrifice, it’s “what’s left over after you give” that determines the sacrifice. Have a great day of “giving!” Sherry
