Word from the Mission Field – 11-29-17

“Watch Your Words…”
How often have you spoken sharp or cutting words to someone, and maybe didn’t mean it, but afterwards, the effects of those sharp words linger…sometimes for years. James 3:2-4 talks about the tongue. It can be very poisonous. We put bits in the mouths of horses to control them, and we have helms to control a great ship, but the “tongue can no man tame.” We have tamed “wild animals,” but we haven’t figured out “how to control our tongues yet.” When I was a young teenager, my Sunday school teacher said, “Words are like feathers. You can take a feather pillow to the top of a building and tear it open and the feathers will disappear. But, they are like our words; we can never get them back.”
“If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.” James 3:2 — Have a great day…the best way to use your tongue is “to praise the Lord!” Sherry
