“Steadfast and Unmovable…”
We are living in a time where people are so easily discouraged. They often “give up” on God. They whine, murmur, complain…and yet, call themselves Christians. Living in Haiti for 26 has been a great life-lesson for us. We find the Haitian people, once they become Christians, have great faith in God.
The other day, when I told the mother of Alvin, the little boy with the tumor whose eye is protruding, that “if” he were able to go to the States and have surgery, there is always a chance that he won’t make it. She looked at us with tears streaming down her face and said, “God has done so much for me already, and this clinic has done so much for my son, that if the Lord chose to take him, I would still praise the Lord. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away…blessed be the name of the Lord.” And she was praising God, when she said that! This mother brings tears to my eyes. We must always be “steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 15:58 – Bobby and Sherry
