“It’s Not What You give that Determines the Sacrifice…” Part One
In Luke 21:1-2, we see the story of Jesus in the Temple watching all the rich men, “casting their gifts into the treasury.” We would normally think they “gave quite a bit,” but Jesus always set the story straight. He saw a poor widow “casting in two mites,” and said, “Of a truth, I say unto you, that this poor widow hast cast in more than they all…” It was because “she gave all she had.” Two mites was nothing to the rich men, because they had so much… “It’s not what you give that determines the sacrifice, but how much is left over after you give” that determines the Sacrifice.
