Don’t put your light under a “coffee can.” Matthew 5:14-15 says, “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.“ When I read the Haitian Bible, it says, “Neither do men light a candle and put it under a mamit…” (A mamit can is a form of measure in Haiti. There are large mamit cans, about the size of a large coffee can, and smaller mamit cans, about the size of a can of corn.) Haitians do not use the word “bushel,” because their baskets are weaved and you could still see the light, but if you put it under a “mamit coffee can,” not only can you not see it, but it will go out! So today, don’t put your light under a “coffee can,” let it shine where everyone can see the love of God in you! Blessings! Sherry
