“That Fiery Trial, Again.”
“For the Lord your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.” Deuteronomy 13:3
When we moved to Haiti in July of 1991, we found ourselves in the midst of the “Great Embargo.” That meant, “nothing coming in and nothing going out. No planes, no fuel, no imports, nothing.” We had very little electricity for three years and had to learn to live by candlelight. People were being killed and our lives were threatened. Many missionaries left Haiti back then. It was a test to see if we loved the Lord more than our families and friends and more than anything else. It was not easy. This was the “fiery trial” in 1 Peter 1:7. “That the trial of your faith, being more precious than of gold.”
Today, you may be “in the fire” because God wants to know if you love Him and trust Him more than anything else in the world. And you do! And when He “brings you out,” you will come forth as “pure gold” and with greater faith and blessings!! Have a great day! Sherry
