Yolanda…I just hate to see our little girls grow up! She is now 14 and turning into a young lady. The amazing thing is that she has still “held on to childhood!” She loves to “jump rope,” with lots of kids…a big, long jump rope, with boys and girls going in and out, jumping and singing!!!
She can hold her own on the basketball court, even with the boys! But, when it comes to the “Praise and Worship Dance Team,” she just glides through every step in deepest devotion. She is amazing!
As for her personality, she is seen as “quiet around me,” but all the girls are noisy in their room!!! She is still at the top of her class and wants to be a doctor. She is a great help to the moms and will do any kind of work! Yolanda keeps her room and her closet clean and loves to work!!!
She came from the mountains when her mother died in childbirth. (More than half of our LAC Children came to us because their mothers died during or after childbirth!) The children all love her and call her the nickname, “goat!” (Sometimes, they call her “spaghetti” because she loves to eat spaghetti!!!) We know one thing…God sent her to us, and she will be something great someday!
We love Yolanda.
Sherry
We will see how she does as her life goes on in Haiti.
