Zachary Update

We have had Zachary since he was just a couple of months old. At that time, when his mother came to our Clinic with him, we did not know that “five of her children had died,” and that she was planning on killing “this baby.” We got permission to take Zachary away from her to raise him.

He has been a strange little fellow to raise. He would scream and cry when I walked into his room, and he has always been a “serious baby.” He recently started pre-school. (They start early in Haiti.) He really didn’t like it.

Now, for some reason, he has become “very attached” to me. I try to send him out with a mom or his “ton-ton,” (a male worker), but he is glued to me! I was trying to get some work done this morning, so I gave him a plastic bat and ball, thinking this would “de-rail him.” But, “Sampson grabbed the plastic blue bat!” I quickly got Sampson’s mind off the bat “with a dog biscuit.”

Baby, bat, and dog are all doing fine now! I know Zachary will grow up to be a sweet little boy!!! We love him… I just hope he grows out of the “clingy” stage!
