Zoey – The Trial of My Faith

It has been “the trial of my faith” raising little Zoey! She was abandoned, discarded by her mother (whoever she was), and left in the path of a dirt road. Kaeli (one of our missionaries who worked with us for several years) along with some of our older girls found her. We had to take her to “Bien Social,” Department of Social Services, for information. They insisted that we “keep her.”

Zoey wasn’t the normal “go to sleep, darling little baby.” She was a little terror! She was always screaming and crying, and most of the time there were “no tears!” For a year I was out of patience. After taking her to the doctor, changing her formula, putting her on cereal, etc. I tried everything that anyone told me to do. She just cried all of the time. After many doctors’ trips, the diagnosis came back… Our doctor said, “She is ‘spoiled!'” Ha! I could have told them that!!

Zoey couldn’t have had any more love this past year… Here she is with Kristela and Esther. Each time I saw her, she was in someone’s arms. I guess the Lord has more patience with us than we deserve, because Zoey just turned one a couple of months ago. She is now “singing,” clapping her hands, and trying to get into the “praise dances” the girls are doing! She praises the Lord, tries to sing, and really is so adorable! I am blessed to have Godly “mothers” working with Zoey and the other little ones.

She is a testimony of how God can use someone, something, that has been “thrown away,” and He can turn it (them) into something “beautiful!”

“EVERYONE” LOVES ZOEY!!! I THINK GOD HAS A GREAT PLAN FOR HER!!!
