A Haitian Creole Proverb…
“Bondye pa bay pitit li penn san sekou.”
“God never gives His children pain without help (medicine).”
AmeriCares partners with Love A Child to care for thousands of poor Haitians. Recently, we received a shipment of necessary supplies for our Jesus Healing Center and the Cholera Treatment Center (L’de Vie) from AmeriCares. The huge shipment arrived at our Love A Child Depot.
We did an inventory and decided where to send the life saving supplies. All of the boxes were arranged on pallets in order to go directly to the Cholera Treatment Center and the Jesus Healing Center.
The Jesus Healing Center was in great need of these supplies, as our shelves were looking very bare. The products were transported there to be stocked and ready for use. We typically see between 100 – 150 patients per day at the Jesus Healing Center so we use lots of medications and supplies. This is a clinic that serves the poorest of the poor.
The Jesus Healing Center has an emergency room that medicates and stabilizes critical patients so they can be transported to another facility for a higher level of care.
We treat emergency cardiac and burn patients at the Jesus Healing Center.
The Cholera Treatment Center has been a huge blessing for many Haitians in our area. It is making the difference between life and death.
As of now, the Cholera Treatment Center has made a difference in the lives of over 8,500 patients.
The children are the most fragile.
Dr. Mardy is an expert at assessing and starting IV’s for our little patients. When you administer care to children, the medical physician must move quickly and smoothly to get the serum started without frightening these little people.
The medical treatment is often life saving. We thank AmeriCares for all the medical supplies donated to Love A Child. We could not provide the necessary treatment for these special patients without the partnership of AmeriCares. On behalf of our entire medical staff at the Jesus Healing Center, the Cholera Treatment Center, and all of the poor Haitians that have received medical treatment, THANK YOU.
Love,
Sherry
