Haitians and Small Businesses

Haitian Proverb:

Moun pa se dra
A protector is like a cloak

Or scripture:

A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.
Psalm 112:5

A special dedication service for the Grand Miracle Market will be held on December 9th in Fond Parisien, Haiti.

Many Haitians have applied for a booth to start businesses in this brand new facility.

There are all types of Haitian businesses that can be operated in our Grand Miracle Market.

Haitians love to make chairs, head bands and art to sell. They are very good at it and now our Grand Miracle Market will be a safe place for each vendor to run his or her business.

Yesterday, Bobby and I heard that there are 190 very poor Haitians that do not have enough money to start up their business by the grand opening and dedication on December 9th.

Many of these in need are  Haitian women who are the sole provider for their family.

We have had mothers coming to our gate and crying because they want to start a business and provide for their families, but they do not have the resources to make that happen.

It cost $225 for each person to buy their product and set up for business. The total cost to help 190 Haitians start their own businesses is $42,750.

Bobby and I have promised the 190 people that we would have the money to help them by Monday, December 1st.

Marketplace-meetingWe have no idea where the money will come from, but we have faith. During this time of Thanksgiving, let’s think about how we can help others provide for their families.

If you can help a Haitian start a business, please call our office at 239-210-6107 to find out more.

God bless you,

Sherry
