“Our Great, Big, Wonderful God”

God has a plan for everything under the sun! He has a plan for your life, too. Just because “things don’t go your way,” or, “the way you would have expected it to,” that doesn’t negate God’s will and His plan for your life, for “He calleth those things which be not, as though they were.” Romans 4:17

We can believe God for the easy things, but can we believe God for something that takes a miracle? Imagine what would happen if God spoke to your Grandpa or your Grandma, up in their 90’s, in a nursing home, and said “you will bring forth a child.” Those frail bodies, being able to conceive a child, would not be believed by anyone! In fact, they would remove your grandparents from the nursing home and place them in the mental ward! But, God always has a plan! Even when there are “bumps in the road,” with that promise He made you, He has already taken those things into consideration and already has “His plan” in place! For every question, He has the answer! For every problem, He has already made the “way of escape.” Even the very fact that “you have a problem,” means He’s already got the solution! The devil has set up a roadblock, but God always has a way of escape!

A few months ago, Bobby and I were traveling in Haiti and had to go through a very dangerous area, where there were thieves. We had checked with our missionary friends, who thought the road was good, but when our driver looked ahead, he saw large road-blocks and hundreds of angry Haitians with rocks and guns! They hated the government of Haiti and were always rioting.

Our driver quickly backed up and tried to take the dirt road to the right. It was blocked by gangs! We backed up and tried to go another way, but we were quickly surrounded by guys with guns and huge rocks, yelling and screaming at us!

One of our workers in the front seat, began to talk to the “gangs” who were banging on our windows with rocks, demanding we come out! But, all of a sudden, just when we thought we would be killed, one mean guy looked into the window, saw Bobby, and gave a “thumbs up!” Bobby gave him a “thumbs up,” and we took out of there like a “bat out of …!”

Don’t you know that God already “knew” we would be surrounded and He already had His plan in place! So, don’t worry! God has already made a “back-up plan” for everything that happens in your life! Sherry
