From Death to Life

Since the gangs control Haiti, the poor lead a much more difficult life, and the children of the poor are in the most dangerous situation.

Unlike a Clinic that may be open from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, our Malnutrition Center Clinic must be open 24/7. This means we have a full-time staff day and night, watching over these babies, toddlers, and small children. Often, we receive children who are very sick: with anemia, diarrhea, vomiting, with severe malnutrition. Babies and children who have Kwashiorkor Malnutrition are far worse than the tiny, “skeleton-like” children who have Marasmus Malnutrition.

All Haitian mothers want “fat babies,” so when their child’s body fills with water and their face, arms, legs, and stomachs swell, they are not worried. They think their babies are fat and in good health… but they are dying. When they are dismissed, their mother must bring them back each month for a check-up; they leave with a box of food, 216 meals!! Thank you, partners, for saving lives and making an “impact!”

God bless you.
