“… we will NOT fear.” Psalms 46:2

Psalms 46:2

In 2010, a great 7.2 magnitude earthquake hit Haiti. Walls and buildings crumbled into “nothing.” Roads were torn down the middle. Two and three-story buildings became broken blocks and were unrecognizable.

Bobby was on the top floor of our Orphanage, with Nini our cook. They tried to go down the cement steps, but, as we found out, the steps were moving and chopping, and it was impossible to get down until the quake stopped. For months, we were all trying to identify bodies on the side of the roads. Mothers and fathers stood outside a large grocery store, talking to their loved ones who were buried under piles of blocks. One man was talking to his son on a cell phone… But soon, they heard nothing.

For over a year after, the sound of thunder would make children cry, and adults fall to their knees.

Fear can be more deadly than catastrophe. The Bible speaks of “men’s hearts failing them with fear.”

But the Psalms says, “Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.” – Psalms 46: 2

Today, we cannot fear! Fear is a spirit, and God’s love is stronger than anything! We will not fear!!

Have a blessed day.
