Moses looks like every young Haitian teenager but there’s nothing “normal,” about how he ended up in our hands. Haitian mothers, even if they are poor, will have their babies and do their best to care for them, even if their husband leaves them. But this mother went to an outhouse (in another area), gave birth, and dropped the baby down into the filth, the bugs, the rats, the feces… then, she left. Soon, a Haitian man went to the bathroom and heard a baby’s faint cry. With the help of neighbors, he tied a cord around his waist and went down into the filth to rescue the baby.

He took the infant to a hospital and they called someone who called us. “Moses,” is now 17. He wants to be a mechanic. He wants everything “clean,” and loves to play marbles, soccer, and basketball. He is in 9th grade and he knows God has a plan for his life! Thank you, partners, because we all “save lives,” together!
