This is a Creole Proverb handed down from generation to generation!!! Everyone here in Haiti wants to go to the United States. Of course, many are coming in illegally but to those who value going to the States legally, the Haitians say, “Your face is your Passport!”

Think about what the old and wise Haitians have said, “Your face can get you in when you don’t deserve it.” Or, it can mean, “A smile will help you go further!” I believe that! I remember one time when we were in the Miami Airport waiting to get to the ticket counter. The lady behind the counter not only “looked mean,” but she WAS mean! We thought, “We hope we get the other lady,” but we got the mean one. Bobby pulled out his usual “Southern talk” and was talking to her… and soon, she was smiling, laughing, and helping us more than we needed!

Your face can get you in or out of doors! Your face is your “passport!” Have a great day.
