Update on Jackson

You can see the difference in Jackson, since the first day that we brought him back to our orphanage. He was brought to us by a relative. His stomach was the largest I had ever seen on a child. It was not easy to pick him up! He was so heavy because he was full of water!! (We had two other children that had Kwashiorkor Malnutrition, but Jackson was the worst.) His kidneys were about gone!

It has been years since the day that we found Jackson during a Mobile Medical Clinic. He has had to make many trips back and forth to the Dominican Republic. We had to buy a “portable dialysis machine,” because there was no “pediatric dialysis machine” here in Haiti. He has been on a special diet, has had lots of medicines to take, and now, he will have an operation on his leg that has become “very small” and crooked.

He is in the 9th grade but had to repeat the year because he was sick when the final test came. We ask you to pray with us, “the prayer of faith,” for Jackson’s complete healing! He is a very intelligent but sickly “young teenaged boy” who dreams of just being normal.
