There was an exciting discovery this week as the ATC (Agricultural Training Center) staff was working near the area destined for our large new garden that will get us closer to “food sovereignty” (producing most of our own food) for our 5 kitchens at Love A Child. The team found a natural, rich pocket of “nature’s own” compost where organic material (leaves, twigs, etc.) had collected for many years, decomposing into a nice, rich soil.

Usually, we have to make our own compost by cutting and gathering a lot of diverse types of biomass and managing it with water and manure, waiting for the microbes and worms to decompose it, but in this case, God had provided this valuable resource for us.

Here you see the guys digging it and transporting it to the new area, and Wilner showing a close-up of the rich new organic soil that God had waiting for us. Praise Him!
