A Medical Trip to the Dominican Republic

Pictured is Philemond (our number one driver), three of our Love A Child nurses, and three of our Love A Child children, going to the DR for urgent medical needs. Jackson, for a dialysis check-up, Yonel for hand surgery (his father had held his hand in boiling water because he was angry at him, then threw him in the street… his fingers had melted together), and teenaged Daniel who needs to see an eye specialist for disease in his eyes. One of our biggest expenses in Haiti is our children who require “fragile, life-saving medical attention.”

These children, and others who will be coming later, either “cannot get to a Haitian doctor, due to gangs,” or, they cannot be treated in Haiti for other reasons. The three nurses will go through intensive training on how to do the dialysis treatment for Jackson.

We have other children in our orphanage who will be going at a different time. We are thankful for the hard work of Jesse Ostrander, who is working with us now. He is the one who found the doctors and set up the appointments, etc. We are so thankful to you, and our partners, who stand with us with prayer and financially, in these medical outreaches! We love you!

Bobby and Sherry

Note: We will be meeting them all today when they arrive here in Santo Domingo.
