Mikalange and her sister Mika are twins.

They are both in 7th grade, but they are a world of personalities apart. You can see the eyes of Mikalange, they have “mischief” in them! Ha! She is always up to something and never “shy!” Mikalange loves music, and would you believe, she is learning the drums! She loves to cook and she wants to be a dentist!

It is sad to know that her mother, Madamn Mercilia, died soon after delivering these two babies. They were born in the mountains of Haiti in the village of Covant. This is a village far away from any clinic or hospital, so, when her mother should have had a C-Section, there was only a local lady to deliver the babies. Her father brought the twins to us and they have brought us “great joy!”

Mikalange and her sister love to “dress up” to go to church! They both love school and of course, they love their home! The orphanage (now called a Children’s Home) has been stressful at times because raising this amount of kids, all ages, all different personalities, has had its problems. But, it has brought us great joy!

Our stress comes from the fact that Haiti is in constant turmoil and threatened by gangs with guns. This prevents the older children from going to school and finishing their education. Each child has a “dream,” and we always pray that each one of the children that God brought to us, will “reach their dream!” God bless you, wonderful partners who have helped us through the years!
