This poor lady arrived at our Malnutrition Center yesterday with her baby in her arms. Her name is Sylvania. Like so many young girls in school, she had a boyfriend and got pregnant. But, when she had the baby, he no longer wanted the responsibility. You can look at her arms and see that she is not eating. She is anemic and practically starving. We asked her what she was feeding the baby, and she replied, “Some chips and a lollipop.”

She is too weak to nurse the baby, and she doesn’t eat either… mom is just 17! We helped her as much as we could, but she refuses to leave the baby with us until it is well. We brought our Pastor over to pray with her. She did not even know how to bow her head and close her eyes, but we prayed anyway.

Voodoo affects people in many ways, but the worst thing about Voodoo is fear. The Bible says, “Fear hath torment.” She would not leave her baby, so she is going this morning. But, if she got just a “touch” from Jesus, she will come back changed.
