This morning, the agricultural staff were “heroes” again when they brought a big harvest of healthy, fresh green peppers to the orphanage. You can see Elisant holding a box of the peppers that are as big as his proud smile. Just a few years ago, these gardeners had no livelihood, no hope after the earthquake, but then after they received the gift of training at our ATC (Agricultural Training Center) they now have a life-giving skill, a good job, and the pride of knowing they are helping to sustain their country.
The older man on the far right, in the picture of the guys picking the peppers, is from one of the families our donors brought out of the garbage dump in Port-au-Prince. Look at where he is now, after receiving the ATC training and having an important job. What a Blessing! These productive gardeners have a solid path to a better life because someone was thoughtful enough to help pay their tuition to our ATC school. Such a small gift has such a big and enduring harvest.
Please consider sponsoring other students to attend our upcoming Sustainable Agriculture class and help change their lives too.
Thank you,
Rad Hazelip – Assistant Executive Director of Love A Child
