This morning, while we were having a meeting in our Love A Child Office, Nixon, our Administrator, came running into our office, out of breath!

While driving over the bridge that leads to our Love A Child compound, someone looked to the left and saw a baby bundled up, lying on the ground under the bridge. The baby wasn’t crying.

Our workers quickly jumped out of the truck and rescued the baby. Sadly enough, the baby had already died.

We are living and working in such a poor country, Haiti, where life has little value. This was probably done by a young, poor mother who already had too many mouths to feed. She just believed that someone would find her baby and raise it, so it wouldn’t have to face the pains of hunger every day.

Many of our children here at our Orphanage were abandoned and “thrown away.” We are thankful they were rescued “just in time.”

This abandoned baby is now in Heaven, in the arms of Jesus.
