“How poor is poor?” This is little Christemene who lives with her grandmother in Goat Mountain, Haiti. Christemene’s mother was pregnant with her when she found out that her father had been sent to prison. She became so distraught that she had a heart attack and died. Christemene now lives with her elderly grandmother who struggles to find food each day. Sometimes her grandmother only has “saltwater soup” for the whole day. Now that is poor!
