Despite the gangs, we here at Love A Child are still “Open for Business!” This beautiful pink building is the Maternity Clinic (Birthing Center).
There is no charge for deliveries, so poor Haitian mothers can have a safe, clean, beautiful place to have their babies without worrying about the bill!
(When Bobby and I were expecting our first baby, we were extremely poor. I had not yet finished paying for my delivery, and our baby came quickly. While I was in the hospital, delivering our son, the doctor came in and started yelling at me for not finishing paying the rest of my bill! He yelled at me in front of everyone, and my blood pressure went up! We know what it’s like to be in the “shoes of the poor.” But God began to bless us so we could help the poor…)
Look at these previous Haitian mothers having their baby in this beautiful Birthing Center and receiving beautiful baby gifts to go home with!! (Special thanks to Jeanie and Sarah!)
Thank you to our wonderful partner who made all these gifts happen for the poor… The words in Creole on the baby items say, “I’m a little blessing!” The moms also got sandals and cute “purple socks!”
Ha! “Ain’t God good?!”
